Any thoughts on this as an actual Kata?

Lol, I'd be happy to post forms, and the kenpo mind set behind what they are doing. Granted I don't agree with alot of it now. But it's always fun to compare

The Japanese Foundation for Parker Kenpo. As you can see they had the mechanics wrong from the start. This is footage is early on prior to parker's thoughts on moving from point of origin, back up mass, etc etc.

Watch "Grand Master Parker Doing Techniques" on YouTube

Here you can see him incorporating some sliding to increase striking power, a bit later in his martial arts career. Still can see the lack of Lat engagement, failure to use back muscles, zero hip movement, and choppy motion. Also note the overly complex "self defense" "techniques".

This last post you can see "finger set" or all the various raking, whipping, and pecking techniques parker had picked up while in California. His incorporation of more circular motion, shortening of movements, positional checks (placing a hand to block the most likely next strike) and some of his concepts behind the art. Overall a good synopsis IF you can get past the fact that his head won't fit in the room.

This final post provides a link that's a bit less damming and actually breaks down the basics and fundamentals of the art in dedicated 10 years of intense study to. While I believe it has many flaws, I think conceptually there are some good ideas and principles in this particular video series. A bit long, but worth a look if you want to learn about Parker Kenpo.
